11th May fifth stage: Kilmore Quay to Rosslare
Harbour 29 kms
All that
was required today was to get to Rosslare Harbour. A very pleasant amble with a
tail wind and fine weather along the country lanes through the wonderfully
named villages of Tomhaggard and Our Lady’s Island to the tiny port at St
Helens where we relaxed looking out over to the Tuska lighthouse and watching
my Roscoff ferry arrive. Another half dozen or so kilometres saw us comfortably
at the port and the end of the Irish section of the ride.
A great
thank you to Stephen for accompanying me, and to my sister-in-law Anne whose
support along the Irish way was invaluable.
I was sorry to wave goodbye to them at Rosslare harbour.
